Is Brompton Heights licensed by New York State?
Yes, our residence is licensed and inspected by the New York State Department of Health. Department of Health regulated assisted living residences provide assistance with all activities of daily living, including: three meals per day; personal care services such as bathing, dressing, and grooming; medication management; recreational programming; transportation to appointments; 24-hour supervision for any emergencies or care needs. Although not required by the Department of Health, Brompton Heights has Licensed Professional Nurses on-site 24/7.
How do residents get to offsite appointments?
We offer chauffeured transportation service for weekday doctor's appointments free of charge.
What are the visiting hours?
Our doors are always open to family members. You can visit your loved ones 24/7. To keep our residents safe and our building secure, we lock our doors from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. If you wish to visit your loved one during these hours, we ask that you obtain approval from the Manager on Duty, the Director of Personal Care or the Administrator by simply calling Brompton Heights, and we'd be happy to grant you access.
Will my loved one lose his/her independence?
On the contrary - we recognize that each of our residents have individual needs. At Brompton Heights we promote resident independence and provide an environment that encourages this to the level of each individual resident.
What does "All-Inclusive Pricing" mean?
At Brompton Heights, you can expect one flat rate each month based on your room rate and your level of care, which includes full access to all services and amenities. This means that you will not have to pay for individual services and get nickel and dimed each month, like at some other communities.
Can residents continue to see their own doctor?
Yes, residents have the choice of keeping their personal physician or being referred to the in-house or local physician.
Can I bring my own furniture?
Yes, our rooms are fully-furnished; however, we encourage residents to bring their own favorite belongings.
Can I take my loved one out of the building?
Yes. Trips off-site with family members are encouraged. We simply ask that you check with your Nurses Station to take all appropriate medication with you for the length of time your loved one will be gone.
